It is time consuming...then as soon as we wear them 20 minutes--they're wrinkled!!
*sigh*

One reason that I hate ironing is because, honestly I suck at it. I don't know if it is the iron or my skill, but I can't make my clothes look good at all, and I put a great deal of effort into it when I try. SO I don't try anymore.

Point being that I think we all dislike chores that we aren't good at, or where it is hard to see the results. This is also why I hate vacuuming...tripping over or running over the cord...burning the belts, stuff getting caught and rattling around, poor suction...I HATE IT. Except when I have a cordless powerful, bagless upright, where I can SEE the crap coming up, and I can see a difference in the floor.

Tangent, sorry. I feel your pain. To remedy that situation for myself, I shop carefully to get clothes that don't wrinkle. Sadly, often this means synthetics where I would much rather wear natural fibers.

You can improve your chances of easy care dress/casual pieces by shopping for travel clothing...such as you would take on a cruise for multiple occasions. For one it packs beautifully. You can wad it into a ball and take it out of your suitcase and wear it. It is also often versatile in color and style so you can dress it up and down, it is comfortable, and the separates work millions of ways to suit your liking. This means fewer clothes but MORE versatility which is JUST what you want when you travel...and yet it isn't such a bad thing to consider for your home wardrobe.

My pet hate is ironing. I HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT!!!! It's such a waste of time! Why can't those clever people make ALL fabrics and clothes wrinkle-less!???? Surely in this day & age with all our technology it's perfectly possible!? I know there are a few options, but they're not that good yet!

If all else fails live in sports gear as that looks OK even if not ironed! Or get a maid LOL

If the clothes have been left in the dryer too long those wrinkles can be really set in. Toss them back in the dryer with a damp towel and run them again. Then they are way easier to iron.

get foot irons! I saw an advert for them in a magazine. They're like irons that you strap to your foot and then you do the ironing with your feet.

I don't iron. When the clothes are wet I put them on hangers to dry. No ironing needed.

I so agree. But, think about it. It is a nuisance for us who do, but don't the people who have curled up hems and turned up collars look so tacky!!
