Do I write a letter? What do I say? I figured Id just say forget it and it would be easier to just pay the fine even though the police offecer lied on my ticket.

Just go to the appropriate courthouse and talk to the prosecuting attorney
He can recommend a fine or court costs and settle it all very quickly

Good luck

If the officer truely lied on the ticket, you should not plead guilty. That is the coward's way out. But if that's what you want to do, then write a letter to the court. Just state that you would like to change your plea from not guilty to guilty. Realize that by doing this your insurance rates will go up for at least 3 years. That's going to be a very expensive way to go.
