Any Ideas or suggestions? I am looking for something that will be easy to draw in the form of stippling. My art teacher instructed use to pick a picture of anything we would want. Thanks, all help is greatly appreciated!

Anything with strong contrast can be done. I have always liked a portrait of worldly faces. (Nice way of saying elderly) Lots of beauty there that can be brought out with the stipple technique. Also botanical close ups. Such as close ups of roses, sunflowers, or orchids. If your photo is strong your finished piece will be strong.

Please do websearch stippling and techniques. You need your photo [or imagination] and sketch very lightly the overall picture. Use your implement to begin stippling out your lines and fill in the shadows, etc. with your stippling.

You could draw dolphins, fish in a bowl, any flowers, a simple landscape, cacti, your hands, or what have you. Try to use all of the size of the paper for more 'pop'. Is there an example that he gave for demonstration? [like a topic or what you'd already been studying?] Is there a nice picture in a magazine you could render?

Hint: if you need to make large areas of stipples, use more than one pencil/pen with a rubber band but be careful!
happy drawing!

Anything that you might draw with shading, subtle or bold, would be an appropriate subject for stippling.

For some examples, check out:

Under "Commercial Illustration, check out "Cat" and "Fish," for examples using black ink. (the cat's eyes were colored in Photoshop) Under "Fantasy and Science Fiction," check out "B Troop" for an example of stippling using colored inks.
