I'm looking for a solid stock to buy, whose shares are around $7. Not trying to make an overnight profit, just steadily build up

Great idea. Get investment advise from strangers whose qualifications and motives can't be know to you.

Even better...... Buying a stock under $20, or worse almost $5.00, which is considered a "penny stock".

Why $7.00? Let's say you want $700 worth of stock. You could buy 14 shares of a $50.00 stock (as an example). After all, the only thing that's important is the percentage of growth of your investment...........

If this is your first stock, how does it fit with your asset allocation? If you own no stock mutual funds or ETF's... why would you put your money into one investment? Pretty dangerous by most standards of investing.

Perhaps reading at least a couple of books on investing would be a better start than just buying "a stock".

Investing works for those that understand what they're doing and how well diversified their portfolio is. Don't be a gambler.

Consider yourself warned.

You might consider JAVA ($5.90), it's a far better stock than BBI ($5.39). However BBI is more cyclical and the troughs and highs are less active meaning there is more time between each peak. With JAVA you'll have to buy and hold for a long time, maybe as long as five to ten years. With BBI you can get in and out of it 3 - 4 times a year buying low and selling high.

Also, don't invest in a stock that doesn't offer options and don't use a broker who restricts your ability to play options.

advanced semiconductors ASX its at 5.84 per share and looks like it will go right up. Its a High risk/return stock so that means you have potential to make a lot of money. It doesnt have very good dividends b/c it is strickly a growth stock. Take a look at it yourself, you might be happy.
