I don't think I have the clout yet to call out individual contributors here, but since you're a top one, I have to ask you: why the hell did Jude mess with you? You seem like a smart guy. Did you pee in his Cheerios? Leave a bag of flaming feces in front of his Islanders offices?

Seriously, I do not remember the Hawks playing in the Finals back in 1992 (I was only three). How solid was the team? I know the team got swept and all, but what memories do you Penguins (and other NHL fans) have of the 1992 Blackhawks?

Actually, I've never flipped out on someone here worse than I did on Jude once. (I don't take things said on the internet very personally, but I don't mind giving someone a piece of my mind back, if the situation calls for it.) He was harrassing me in my questions about me being "sour" (about what, I still don't know) then started making fun of my city (Pittsburgh, of course). He apologized for that, and I try to always accept apologies and not hold grudges.

He still makes fun of the Penguins, especially Sidney Crosby, but I take it all with a grain of salt. Why do I need to defend the winner of last season's Hart, Pearson, and Art Ross trophies? I kind of feel the same way about the things he says to Snoop. Why do I need to defend Snoop, who's an intelligent, quality contributor? Jude gets racist sometimes. I just report that.

As for the Finals back in 1992---dude, I was four. That doesn't mean you can't know or witness the history of your team. My dad was a HUGE Lemieux fan, and was very adamant about teaching me about hockey and Lemieux. Maybe various media (tapes, DVDs, books, etc.) from this period of time in hockey is easy to get ahold of around here because the entire city was in love with Lemieux.

My family moved out-of-state at the end of '97, which would be the start of the first season Lemieux wouldn't play, due to his first retirement. We moved back to Pennsylvania in 2000, the first season Lemieux came back to the NHL. LOL. I'd like to think that's just a huge coincidence, but sometimes I wonder about what was going through my dad's head.

I have Game 4 of the Hawks/Pens Finals on DVD. I guess I won't be asking LITY if he wants to borrow that.

The Pens won their most recent Cup when I was 11. I have vivid memories of the games, especially Dirk Graham's hat trick in game four (?). The Hawks back then were kind of a surprise contender for the Wales crown. That was a testament to the coaching genius of Mike Keenan. They relied heavily on Ed Belfour (and had freaking Dominik Hasek as a backup!) and effort. Jeremy Roenick, Steve Larmer, Chris Chelios, and so many other role players willed that team past a group of solid squads that season. Of course, the Blackhawks were unable to ride the momentum from that season into the next campaign, as Keenan was canned, Hasek and Larmer were dealt, and instead of restocking witn prospects, the Hawks tried to patch up their sinking ship with retreads (Bernie Nicholls, Denis Savard, Jeff Hackett as a backup, etc.). Keenan went on to win a Cup with the Rangers, and to this day, Blackhawk fans wonder...what if?

As far as Jude goes, the man is a douchebag. A bigot and a loser...the hell with him!

Erica- As I mentioned in the email I sent you...I want that DVD! I'm looking forward to the release next Tuesday. Kind of a belated self-birthday gift!

The Hawks were playing pretty solid that year in the playoffs(I was 17). I remember that the Pens were able to match them in either style, winning higher scoring games as well as (i believe) a 1-0 game with Barrasso getting the shutout. By the time Keenan went to Hasek it was too late.

The BlackHawks had a serious winning streak, like 8 or 10 games in that years playoffs but the Pens swept them. Unfortunately I was overseas and couldn't get to any of the games (guess I'm not much of a fan, I know).

Don't go there!

And no.................I'm not bitter!

Erica..............I have about 200 hours of tape from those playoffs................about 100 hours of that focused on that God Damn goal that Mario scored, late in the third period of game one where he skated through the entire Hawks team and made Belfour look foolish

But....................I'm not bitter!
