When the baby started moving and pulling onthe umbilical cord (I've heard they do that) what did it feel like?

I'm in my 14th week and at the moment I have a pulling sensation under my belly button as well as a sick feeling in my stomach (I also have not had any morning sickness throughout this whole pregnancy).

Just wondering if anyone else felt that way?

P.s Gastro is currently running around my town at the moment and I did have a bit of it on the weekend so that could possibly be the reason for me feeling sick.

I've never heard of the baby pulling on the umbilical cord. But I did have "pulling" sensations sometimes. Don't believe anyone that says you CAN'T be feeling your baby right now and that you won't feel anything until around 18 weeks. I felt my baby at 14 1/2 weeks. And the movements were larger and frequent by 18 weeks - no longer just those little bubbles. Some women just pay more attention to their bodies and feel baby movement earlier on.

This is my third pregnancy and I've never felt anything similar to the baby pulling on the umbillical cord. If the baby WAS pulling on it, it's pretty unlikely you'd feel it. The umbillical cord is connected to your placenta, which can be anywhere, and is usually on the side toward your back. I would think the pulling you are feeling is your uterus stretching out.

My doctor told me that you woman that are really intune with their bodies can start to feel their babies moving as of 14 weeks. So it very well could be you are feeling your baby move. I'm 15 1/2 weeks and I've felt my baby move around. It's a funny feeling and great! Congratulations and good luck :)

feeling movements at only 14 wks is probably a bit too soon. usually about 16-18wks for the first flutters and bubbles especially in first pregnancies. The baby is only about 4in or 10cm long and weighs 1 ounce or 30grams so they just aren't big or strong enough to do much yet.

I'd say its gas/wind and a touch of gastro thats causing the feelings in your stomach.

Best of luck and congratulations though!

i have never felt or heard of this, but I am 14 weeks pregnant with my forth and I feel the baby kick when my clothes are too tight. mostly this one jean skirt. I guess I should stop wearing it! I also did a search and only found one website that talked about a lady who had a baby with some sort of birth defect, hopeully you will get a ultrasound soon.

It is a bit early to start feeling your little one just yet. Ususally, that begins are th 18th week. You are probably just feeling some gas.

you shouldn't be feeling that your baby moves until closer to 18 weeks. trust me that he/she is moving, but just too little and not strong enough for you to feel it through the uterus quite yet :)
