Honestly, the only way to get better is to take practice tests and learn from it. Once you are familiarized with the type of questions they ask in practice tests, the test will be no big deal. (Maybe buy a used book from amazon if money is an issue?)

I highly recommend the Collegeboard SAT book (the blue one). It is very simliar to the real thing.

Studying online is a free and easy way to go. The best one I've found is: http://www.number2.com/. If you do a google search for "SAT study online" you'll find a lot more stuff, too.

You should try to take a practice test on paper, too, so that you're familiar with the format and all. The library might have a good book, but make sure it's fairly new. The SAT changed sometime in the last couple of years (I can't remember quite when). If it talks about analogy questions, then it's too old.

Check with your counsellor and your library. Each may know where to get a sample copy of prior SAT tests. That will give you some indication as to how the test may be set up. It will give you the method inwhich questions will be framed and clues of subject content. I feel you have to be a well rounded student with knowledge of many things. If you are there should be no problem.
