The attorney of the plaintiff? Legal counsel for the plaintiff? Nothing special there.

That's the term -- lawyer (or attorney or counsel) for the plaintiff.

The district attorney or prosecutor is the attorney for the govt in a criminal prosecution -- but there is no "plaintitff" in a criminal prosecution -- so, while it is a parallel role, it's not the same.
