Some guy is trying to sell it to me. I tried going to a hobby shop they said it does not look like any of the coins in the redbook (don't know what that means) but it is similar to the dollar coin. Im trying not to get scammed basically.

Yep it's a fake. This website is helpful. Your coin falls under the first category "Collared"

It is a fake or more likely a fantasy item for it has a reeded edge and the real 1795 Bust Dollar has a Lettered edge. The reeded edge first showed up in 1831 on quarters and 1836 on the 1/2 dollars. From 1803 through 1839 no dollars were struck except for the rare 1836-1839 Gobrecht dollars and most of them were stuck long after that date. In 1840 the reeded seated Liberty Dollar showed up as a regular circulation coin. The edge of the coin gives it away so no need to weigh it. This is common for fakes coming from Asia for they don't know American coins that well and since are coins are reeded now except the cent and nickel, they figure they all were. I have a 1843 Seated Liberty Dollar with the reverse of a trade dollar that were not minted until1873 which was 33 years later.

The coin that he is trying to sell you is fake. I know this because all bust dollars have writing on the edge. The coin in the picture has a reeded edge, that is how I know it is fake. The coin pictured seems to be a modern reproduction which usually sell for around $10-$15. I hope this helps answer your question.

That's definitely a fake Bust Dollar. A genuine 1795 weighs 26.96g and has lettered edge(HUNDRED CENTS ONE DOLLAR OR UNIT, with decorations separating the words).

There once was an odd silver dollar,
edged from a false Shanghai collar.
Strange ridges it showed,
(Though letters it owed...)
A Fake! cried the doubting coin scholar.
