How do I find out where my 401K is?

I had one with an old company that went out of business and would like to combine them, but I was told that I couldn't as they couldn't locate the holder, any ideas?

You should be getting annual or quarterly statements. Check the return address. If you moved, ask whomever now lives where you used to live if they are receiving this mail.

Contact the Department of Labor in your area. They will track them down. They are also Federal which gives them more power to put pressure on.
