Call a tow truck, or else have someone pull the lever while another person is trying to pry open the gas cover or use a plunger to suck it open.

You can use a popcicle stick (honest) to push the latch aside on the fuel door. It's just a small, plastic switch that holds the door shut and can be manuvered back enough with the stick to open. This is (was) actually listed as an emergency measure in Nissan qwners manuals for years.

Grab a metal scraper. Wedge the scraper in and see if you can pry it open. You can usually do this without marring your paint job. Use leverage. Wiggle it. Be careful though. Keep your scraper handy if it works, but you need to have the cable that opens your gas compartment door adjusted or reattached. That will require a stop to the shop, or, if you are lucky, your husband.

It's a cable from the inside, find out if it popped off the lever at the driver compartment or back at the fuel door. You need to pull on the cable, pliers or something. If you should choose to pry back at the door (all else fails) use a butter knife wrapped in a thick towel and be VERY careful.

Open your drivers-side door and look down in between the door and seat. Look for a lever with a gas sigh on it and pull it up. Also call you local dealer/auto parts store and they can help you out.

hold the cap while someone else push the release button, if this does not works, try to use an stick (wood or plastic) to push the cap in. the problem I think is the wire or the release button is stack.

have another person pry it open, not too hard, with something while you are pulling on the gas lever or button.
