(I found this while going through the filing cabinet, written when I was 11, TyGuys age *^_^* my first story, thought I'd share}

"I Can Have A Pony Anytime"

I Can Have A Pony Anytime
Mom and Dad say.....
"Wait till you are older"
(but, I brought a pony in the house)
They don't even know it!
He has big brown eyes
A long soft tail
Black hair on his neck
And the rest of him is brown
He answers to the call of "Uno"
(that means number one in Spanish)
I can have a pony anytime
All I have to do is.....
Close my eyes
and fall asleep
Zzzzzzzzzzzz
"Hi Uno!"

You know, the funny thing is that I got my horse! It was a AQH brown colour, a small race horse... yeah, my daddy got it for me. But my mom wouldn't even get me close to it, because she said it was dangerous. So, yeah I got my horse that I always wanted to have yet I wasn't able to touch it but once... until my dad got mad at my mom and sold the horse 1 year later.

Yes I did. A brown and white Shetland named Peanuts. He was mean, fast and hated spurs. He lived to be very old. Also got an American Quarter Horse, The Thoroughbred foal I got out of a mare my mom owned was hit by a truck. I showed both the pony and QH. We had dogs, cats, sheep, pigs, a picky hen who would only lay if the weather was just right, and a cow or two to fill the freezer. I sure loved my pony, and my parents for making my Lil' girl wish come true, even if he was a tortuous beast at times and seemed to take pleasure in unseating me!

Love your little poem by the way, it is sweet.

Now you did it! You asked about a pony.

Being a typical male, I wanted a son when my wife was pregnant. Being a typical female, she wanted a daughter and got her way.

Several years later, we were talking as a family when my wife told our daughter that I had really wanted a boy but that things were fine because a daughter had been my second choice right from the start. My daughter, with a sense of humor that parallels mine at times (and that is scary), asked what my third choice had been. "A pony," I replied with no hesitation. Daughter laughed, wife got a very strange look on her face and we still talk about that twenty-some years later.

And I STILL do not have that pony! But my "little" brother (6-4, 320) does.

A beautiful story. At age 38 I finally got my pony. A beautiful grey with dark mane and tail. We rescued her earlier this year and we hope that she will become our daughters riding pony. In the mean time my husband and I are really enjoying making her feel loved.

I got my pony before I was old enough to want one. My Dad brought him home from the auction, and to avoid Moms displeasure at another horse to feed, said he got him for my approaching second birthday. I rode with Dad for nearly a year, when I rode alone. Don't tell anyone, but it was awhile before I was guiding him. He took me where he wanted, and brought me home when it was time, but eventually---.
When I was nine, he had to go, as we lived in town, and regulations grew stricter, but at 68, I miss him yet, though sometimes, I see him in my Zzzzzzzzzs.Hi Charlie.

I don't remember having a horse
when I was younger.
Although going to my aunt and uncles
would be the place to have horses.
I have had cats, dogs and rabbits.
The command for the horse whoa
giddy up would be familiar
As close to my having a horse or
riding one would be those westerns.
My riding horses wasnt much
but cousins she would ride horses alot
when we were younger.

I think that you are pretty smart. I try that some times:) Does it really work though? Oh and by the way I love the name of Uno, what inspired it?

Yes I did!!!

My parents said "horse" was one of my first words. I begged and begged, and by the time I was 9 my family owned 3 horses. We now own 5 and my entire childhood was dominated by horse shows and trail rides, along with many wonderful friends... I wouldn't have it any other way!

I got a welsh pony for my 8th birthday. Well, my sister and I shared it. I couldn't bear to look at it after she left, and gave it away.
