Download a nice piece of FTP server software.

Check out FileZilla http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla
or
Serv-U http://www.serv-u.com/

Both are fairly easy to set up and come with nice GUIs that you can minimize to tray after you've set them up and turn them online.

No they are not, Mac's are way better. I had a pc and kept on getting viruses. You know how much porn I downloaded on this mac, and have never gotten a virus. I'd like to see your PC go toe to toe with an Apple 8 core processor. Vista and XP are no match for OSX

Hey man,

Just get hamachi on all your computers and create Windows SMB Shares like you would on your LAN (easy to do, just right click the folder you want to share and click sharing and security, share the folder).

https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/list.asp

Once all of you have it installed, one of you create a network and give it a name and password, then have your friends join the network.

Right click your friend and click browse to view his shared folders.

Hamachi creates a VPN over the WAN but actually shares your files using the SMB protocol so you can stream video without downloading it first (unlike FTP).
