Well, I googled "george washingtion day of death" and the first link said that George Washington died on December 14, 1799. Now December is the twelfth month, and 12 times 14 is 168. This made me think that you have misread the problem--I'm guessing that it should involve consecutive EVEN integers. Maybe you should read a little more carefully before posting.

I think you forgot to mention that they are consecutive *even* integers.

Let n be the first integer.
Let n + 2 be the second integer.

n (n + 2) = 168
n² + 2n = 168
n² + 2n - 168 = 0
(n - 12)(n + 14) = 0

n = 12 or n = -14. Only one makes sense obviously.

So the first integer is 12 and the second is 14.

By the way, George Washing died on December 14, 1799.
