Fate is the outcome -- Destiny is the path.
Or put another way -- fate is what's going to happen, regardless of what someone does about it or whether they try to avoid it.
Destiny refers to the options and transitions and events that will occur -- but how the person chooses to respond to their destiny may change the ultimate outcome.

Destiny and fate are usually considered synonyms. However in movies and stories, one of the two words may be used for a particular reason. That is, destiny usually refers to the hero. It may be the hero's destiny to kill the bad guy. On the other hand fate most often refers to the bad guy. (e.g., The bad guy met his fate when he was pushed off the cliff into the boiling volcano below.) In every day life though, fate and destiny are used interchangeably.

Destiny is where you will end up, what you're meant to be, or who you're meant to end up with. It usually applies to one person, and is very often a positive, bright outlook on the future. Like a good prophecy, foretold about a savior.
Fate is what will happen to you along the way, who you will meet and occurrences throughout your lifetime. It's more the process and events than it is the end, but it is also the end. What will happen to you in the end. It's often much more grim than destiny, and can apply to the fate of a nation or world as opposed to just one person, as well. "Death, destruction, or ruin" is one of the definitions on dictionary.com
At least, that's how they're often perceived. The words themselves are often used interchangeably and there isn't much technical difference in definition.

We spend so much time trying to guess the future, sometimes we convince ourselves it's real.
Fate and Destiny are both illusionary terms implying there exists and inevitable future.
In general Fate is the inevitable bad future, while Destiny is the inevitable good future.
I you must believe in one, believe you have a Destiny.

A journey or career that one sets` for ones` self that ends` with the desired result and intention of the journey is destiny. Fate is an assumed predestined outcome that one has no control over , what ever happens will happen , so to speak.

destiny is more changeable than fate. destiny is the future that u are meant to have, the future that u or someone can create for u. fate is just the conclusion of ur future. fate is the absolute thing that will happen. destiny is just the hypothesis if u will.

Destiny is a happy ending in a fairy tale and Fate is a sad ending in a fairy tale.
Basically they're the same thing. We are all predestined to do God's will, but at the same time we do have free will. Don't try to understand it, it is impossible for the human mind to grasp, we just have to accept the fact.

destiny is what your purpose in life is. you have the destiny to be a mother, and work as a nurse is an example. it's your destiny to be that.
your fate is what is going to happen to you. your fate is what you can't change. you will be killed by this on this day. you will be fired no matter what you do.
your destiny is open ended, fate is chosen for you.

Hayzyoleh Sistah,
I think that destiny is your destination U will reach in life base on the decisionz you make in your life.If U plant good seedz you will reap good fruits, but on the other hand if you plant bad seedz you will reap bad fruits or maybe no fruits at all. I think Fate has to do with knowing (and not believing) in your self that your doing the right thingz(or at lease attempting to) in life so good will come your way because Yah is for the people of upright nature.
