I can't say if there is more of either, but I can say that if ALL you see is ugliness, you're not truly seeing the world.

I don't like to "overlook" the bad things. I face them, not necessarily being tough, but just to see them for what they are.

Finding and admiring beauty is how I cope with the ugliness. A single droplet of rain hanging off a leaf~that is beauty powerful enough to counter any ugliness. I shoot a pic and have it always to wonder at.

What is beautiful to me? A happy person. A father lovingly holding his little baby. Flowers. Something rare~like a spider's huge web built across my bedroom window. Music~especially of violins. I could go on and on. There is always something beautiful around.

okay, enough gushing...

I take note of the ugliness, and stare at the beauty.

I believe there is far more beauty than ugliness, but if this world had only one beautiful thing, It would capture my first thought in the morning, and my last thought at night.

The beauty of negativity is that it's a complete wuss. Negativity doesn't believe it can win a fight because that takes an optimist. So if threats don't drive it off, I stab it a few times then laugh while it bleeds out.

i see crazy people
really.
then i look at the beauty of a flower, a butterfly a bird a mountan or a plane and there is beauty...the sunrise and the sunset the stars at night
but the world is getting to be a wild and crazy place, like 1984 is really happening (the book by geroge orwell) some of it is terrifying if a person would let themselves go there for long...
so i choose not to look to far into the future and stay in today and i can see the beauty inspite of all the ugly.

When I step back and look at the world...
I fall off the edge, so I stopped doin' that.

Seriously though, I see the same thing I always see. I see beauty, potential, sorrow, death, light, music, freedom, hatred, opportunity, sadness, joy...

These are things that have always been around. And to some degree, they always will. And for the most part, these things are necessary, even those things that seem unpleasant or bad. They are around to remind us of the complex nature of humanity. That the 'good' things are there to give us happiness, and the 'bad', to warn us about ourselves and our potential for self-destructive behavior.
