I unable understand one thing from our beloved fans. I pray for them. They will seen lot of Indian team victories in near future. Because I am always says something with cricketing brain. Dravid was dropped due to out of form only. There is no doubt, He will be in the test squad all the time. Fans showing this kind of support. I am really surprised with these answers. I am always praising mcgrath & ricky ponting for excellent acheivement. But now I change my mind, DRAVID IS THE BEST. I give lot of respect to you fans hereafter. But atlast I say one thing to you all. TEAM VICTORY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY PLAYERS. your answers is 100% correct. Some of our fans asked why you are not dropping sachin, shewag & ganguly, they are also in out of form. Yes you are 100% correct. It is time for chairman of selector (vengsarkar sir) to answer. This is called selection politics in Indian cricket. That's why we are not world champion in odi and test cricket for the past 50 years.

Dravid is a selfless cricketer. In the series against Australia he had to bat in different positions. His failures lower down should not be taken into account. But the real problem is, Sachin has of late taken the role of Dravid(role of sheet anchor)though he opens the innings. This has made Dravid to play either to hit out or get out.
We can not have more than two seniors in the playing XI.Dravid has become the victim.
The Board should evolve a policy to have all the three in the team for any series and play not more than two at a time in rotation as long as they are good..

Since it is a known fact that Sachin, Dravid and Gangully are getting old and are not expected to play continuously for long, selectors should evolve a policy in consultation with the senior players and rest one player in every game and induct a young and talented player in his place in the playing 11. In this process not only the senior players get enough rest but also the younger plahyers can get an opportunity to play along with the senior players and get matured. However, dropping a senior player all of a sudden as has been done in the case of Dravid is quite unfair and will have a demoralising effect on them.

if i read somwhere, correctly it said that Shewag is put into the squad along with a new player, named Praveen Kumar. New comers need chance -- we all agree with it. We have over 1 billion people, so that means there is lot of cricket talent out there and that it is not the case that only Dravid, Tendulkar , Ganguly etc are the best and can't be replaced. Some time, new players should be tried because there will be more opportunity then.

I don't believe you can judge the form of Dravid based on Australian tour. He was never allowed a stable position unlike Sachin or Ganguly. He was sent in most of the times to sacrifice his wicket.

Look at England series. He himself wasn't putting himself in comfortable position and that's what I liked about him. He changed his positions according to the match situations. He had the best strike rate than even Yuvraj in England series.

People have to look at the situations, not scores. Sachin and Ganguly put up 140+ runs in ODI, taking all their time eating away balls that were precious. They got 50+ themselves, so they got their places secured. Dravid was sent in when the required run rate was more than 7.5 with more than 20 overs to go and he was supposed to immediately throw his bat.

Poor chap.. he did it. So, people call him as out of form.

Ganguly showed his 'real' form during the last ODI. He struggled for every ball he faced and he got out pathetically. But, since he scored 'runs' earlier, he is safe.

Look at their performance in the field. Dravid still sprints like a Deer where as Ganguly gets tired after running for one run and Tendulkar too. Most of the times we end up with one run less when Ganguly is at the crease because he can't run. After scoring 40-50 runs, Sachin will start developing cramps and he can't even stand.

Dravid is the fit person than rest two.

So, it's time to refill the indian cricket management team with people with sense. Else our guys will continue to play senseless games.

One chap here mentioned Dhoni, just because he won few matches. Remember the early captain days of Dravid in 2006. He won against Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England very comfortably with huge margins. Everyone applauded him calling him 'leading by example' and Greg as "Guru Greg". Once we lost few matches, then the same folks became devils.

So, we the Indians, bogged down emotions and with short sight are also to be blamed too.

Dravid, Sachin, Saurav are all great players. We need to respect them. Iam myself a big fan of those players.

But when it comes to team India, I sacrifice my fan following for an individual, because team India is more important to me. There are over a billion people in this cricket mad country and there are millions wanting to play for India. We need to give them an opportunity too. Eventhough Iam disappointed over Dravid's exclusion personally, I feel great and joyed when I think of the future of Indian cricket; for it is ready to drop players of the caliber of Dravid for the team's sake. And, thats what I adore.

Ganguly played in team for two years with that poor form...shewag for one year with poor form...sachin many matches...but for rahul dravid its one series..i really dont understand the logic behind this.....

its purely a ego clash...because of Vengaskar only he resigned from captaincy...now he has been dropped...

Indian cricket is in bad hands...always...

Dravid was once called the 'wall'... recently in the the aussies series he has shown the potential of being the 'hole'... His defense has become so good that all balls are going through ... so the selectors planned to F*** him and give him a rest .. so that he can go back to learning his basics in cricket..

I wish the Indian team lots of victory.

It is not about sentiments. It is about performance and wins.

But a couple of seasoned players with experience must be a part of the team. They lend support and boost morale with their numbers.
Let them win.
