Here's a link to a short video on YouTube about Mr. Machine. I guess it was sold in the 1960s but I don't remember this toy at all!!!!!

We bought our daughter a Mr Machine when she was little and we still have it! I see you have a link for it . you wind it up with a big key and it rolls across the floor making a very annoying squeaking sound as it goes. What we liked about it was, no batteries!

Mr. Machine was a combo plastic & metal gear walking toy. You wound him up and he would walk forward, swing his arms, and his mouth would open and close. He wore a top hat. The jingle went: Here he comes! Here he comes! Greatest toy you've ever seen! And his name is "Mr. Machine". He is fun, He is real, and for you he is ideal, And his name is "Mr. Machine!".

This toy did not ring a bell until I found the website & got a look at this one-of-a-kind-toy-wonder. It was a robot that was a large plastic windup. Approximately 17.5" tall, he whistles as he rolls around. With see through plastic, watch all the gears work. For a picture: www.timewarptoys.com/gallery.htm

I looked at the link for Mr. Machine, he was a little plastic see-through wind up robot that rolled and would ring. You could see the gears and even take him apart and put him back together again. Thanks for bringing this up, it was real neat to see this little guy.
