What if everyone in your life was exactly the same but could only represent themselves through the bodily image and articulation of someone who is "Black" ? What would be your response to that? Would anything about you or your life perspective change? Would your view of the world remain the same? How would you feel about life?

I would feel really intimidated all the time.

Why? I'll be honest and say that I've been heavily affected by the media's portrayal of people who are black. I even have friends who are black but it's media. It screws with your mind!

Nothing wrong w/ that. When I was a business major at Bakersfield Coll., my business professor was African-American, originally from MI. She was very enthusiastic about teaching; I remember she also pronounced "specific" as "Pacific." Valerie Robinson was very motiv8ng & I think she was a good professor 2 listen 2. I had her in my Intro to Business and Business Communication classes. & she helped me a lot w/ preparing a good resume. I gradu8d this spring w/ a Associate's in Accounting. I hope 2 please Mizz Robinson & my other professors by earning a job.

I would feel like I was in a beautiful world of beautiful people! What's wrong with Black people being in a position of authority? I have a brother and a father who were in positions of authority for years and their subordinates loved them. IF more Black people were in a position of authority than more people would realize that we're just like they are and that we're no worse than they are and maybe in some experiences a lot better!

I wouldnt care, you obviously have a problem with white people, why so angry? Do you feel jealous of white people or do you feel that people are rascist? Some are, some arent. As a white person I take for granted that I do not receive rascist taunts, but if I was black I guess I would have to deal with it, its a part of life

I would feel fine about it. In the end what matters is what God has done for me, how I respond to God's will in my life. So the pigmentation of the skin wouldn't bother me at all. If the authority figure was an idiot that I had to comply with well that would bother me.

My response to that would be,"Nothin".I'm not racist, even tho I've had couple bosses in the past that should have been living in a run down trailor park with their imbred kids and daddy/husband! I'm talkin' white trash and I'm white. So, doesn't matter to me what color they are. You could be purple. Just treat me with respect and gimme a nice fat paycheck and I'll be a wonderful , hardworkin' employee!

It sounds like something was one-sided somewhere ..or that others were excluded for racial reasons ..
No matter what the race - if it's a case of racism..I couldn't be a party to racism ..and I feel the question is intended to stir up or practically promote racial animosity .. I hope I am wrong .

If all authority figures from the beginning of my life were very dark skinned I would have to ask if I was adopted. Other than that there would be no problem.

I see your point. And yes if might change my attitude toward dark skinned ppl.

Another ex; a professor asked his class to sit, man/ woman, man /woman, ect. Then he asked all the women to get up on a chair.
The men admitted that they didn't like looking up at the taller women. It was intimidating.

As long as the Authoritative figure is someone to look up to, I see no problem. If the person is just a "figurehead" but an a**, I wouldn't like it, no matter what color they were.
