I'm about to take a trip to the Netherlands in a weeks time, which is sadly around the same time I'm supposed to start my period. I was curious as to whether or not there were ways to stop the bleeding caused by a period all together, because it's safe to say I don't want to sit in a plane for 8 plus hours, on my period, having to get up every 3-4 hours to change tampons.

I'm not interested in douching, for one it's bad for your vagina, and two you're only supposed to do it towards the end of your period.

What about menstural extractions? Has anyone ever tried them, or would anyone recommend that as an option?

The only way I know how to is to get on some kind of birth control and just skip the sugar pills or something like that, I have never heard of any other way to not have a period.

If that is what you decide to do, I recommend Nuvaring, i've been using if for about 10mos. and I have not had my period since I started using it. because I chose to leave it in for that 4th week

Only thing I can think of is the pill, but that wont work in time if its in a week. Could come in handy for your next trip though.

Nope, its far too soon to try anything to skip your period.

Take tampons/pads and pamprin/midol and don't let your period run your life.

Never heard of menstrual extractions so I would not recommend it.
