To find the x-intercept, set y=0 and solve for x.
1)y=2x+3
0=2x+3
2x=-3
x=-3/2
To find the y intercept, set x=0.
y=2x+3
y=2(0)+3
y=3

To find the y int. set x equal to 0
To find the x int. set y equal to 0

The y intercept is where the graph crosses the y axis (the vertical axis) this only occurs when x is equal to 0.

The x intercept is where the graph crosses the x axis (horizontal) this can only occur where y is equal to 0.

I'll do one for you

y=2x+3

y int:

y=2(0)+3

y=0+3

y=3

x int.:

y=2x+3

0=2x+3

-3=2x

x=(-3/2)

So your x intercept is at (-3/2,0) and y intercept is at (0,3)
