I'm renting a new apartment. The apartment is 0K. But the last person who lived here covered up all the windows with tape, and bumper stickers.

I took all the tape off, but there's a lot of stuck-on residue from it. I haven't been able to take off all of the bumper stickers, they are really stuck-on. I tried scratching with keys, but I scratched the glass.

Soap doesn't work, neither does alcohol, I tried lemon, and that didn't work either.

Is there anything that can take off that residue that make the windows look dirty?

Go to the auto parts store, buy the product called Goo-Gone

Or you can use kerosine

I don't like to use a lot of chemicals... so here's what I'd try...

Get a hand held hair dryer and heat up the sticky stuff to melt it a bit, and should wipe off or peel off pretty easily. If there is residue left behind you should be able to clean it off with windex.
It works really well on price stickers stuck to glass or picture frames. Good luck.

Spray with some WD-40 spray, let is soak the scrape it off with an old credit card.:) Then clean it with a water & vinegar mixture. Add a cup of white vinegar to a spray bottle and fill the rest with water, wipe with newspapers.

I vote for GooGone too, put first try salad oil. Put some on a rub, rub, rub until the oil and adhesive blend. By then it should be removeable. It may take window cleaner to get it all off, but first you have to break up the adhesive. Also, do you have some nail polish remover? Try that.

okay it's cheap and it'll look gross for a few hours but I've had a lot of sucess with it....

Smear each area heavy with peanut butter...not the natural kind but stuff like Jiff...Skippy....Store brand creamy.

Leave on for a few hours, as I said, gross.

The residue should come off with the pad of your thumb..push at it until it rolls up into icky balls...then wipe off with a damp paper towel, then windex the glass..stubborn spots-use a plastic disposable spoon or knife...Good Luck.

Eucalyptus oil works great and is all natural, and has a pleasant smell. Works for me every time.
