It depends on the laws in her state, but more than likely...YES! It's called abanonment.
if the roles were reversed, the same would pertain. Parents...both... are leaglly responsible for their children. If you leave without a fight to get custody, it's abandonment & the court will rule in favor of the caring parent.

If she left him and the kids yes he can fight for full custody of the children and she will have to pay child support. Nobody can say I am wrong either . My mom got married to a man who's X wife did the same thing and he and my mom got the kids and the X had to pay child support until the girls turned 18. And if she left him with the kids she basically abandoned them so she cold have all of her parental rights taken away not saying she will but she could

If she leaves him, he stands a better chance to get custody. And in regards to her having to pay him child support, that is NOT contingent on her making more money than he does. I should know, my ex has our kids and I pay him child support and he makes twice as much as I do. When I tried to go to court to get my payments lowered because I was barely making ends meet, the judge told me to get another job if I didn't like it.

If she walked out on her children, who else is supposed to get custody of them? And in some states, women have to pay child support to the father if he has custody.

It depends what state they live in. In most cases, there will be a custody hearing. She may have to pay support if she is making more than him and he has the kids. Tell her to get a lawyer fast.

Yes, if she leaves them, he can go to court to get a custody order that he would have custody. She would then have to pay child support.
