As noted in countless comments above, it is completely dependent on the reason for the wait. Patience in is direct proportion to the perceived reward. The greater the reward, the more patience will be achieved. And this works simply because you do not want to 'not' get the reward.
You will usually find some reason to wait just a 'little longer' rather than take the chance of not getting the reward.
If I go to the market to buy something that I 'want' but are not in critical need of, then I will not usually have the patience for a long check out. But it is also not a great 'loss'.

But, on the other hand, if I am in anticipation of a "promise" ;-)))) and she is late, then I will not risk 'not' getting the 'promise' by bailing out too soon. If I leave, the 'promise' is gone, period, but if I wait, then I may still not get the 'promise', but it is still a very viable option..

It could also be considered as a simple case of supply and demand. ;-))))

Peace,

Buzzy

I will give you a scenario and you judge it .. i have an appoitment to see someone at 4pm ..

i prefer to be there sooner so i arrive at 3:45 .. so at least i wait for 15 min..

then if the other person dosen't come within 10 min that is 4:10 i will leave.. so as total i am ready to wait 25 min ..
so it depends on you do u conside 25 min good or not ??
for me i consider myself good in waiting..

Well..it depends on what I am waiting for. lol
If I am waiting for my teacher to come in the room i could be patient as can be.
BUT if i am waiting to talk to my boy-friend or waiting to get on the computer my patience is very short.

i will tell you my story here goes, i met my husband 7 years ago. i worked in a newsagency and he would come in everyday, at the start it was to get the papers and that was all he wouldnt look at me or talk to me it got very frustrating but i would say good morning and try to have a conversation with him but to no avail. this happened every day for 6 months he just would not talk to me. but then all of a sudden he started to come in and after work and start to talk to me, i finally found out why he would not ttak to me. it was because............... he was SHY. ever since then he talked more and more about himself and he got to know me. as you can tell after that we got engaged and then got married. so i would have to say i must have been pretty patient. and i waited and waited so i will say yes i am good at waiting.
