48 Days! The spider would have climbed 47 feet in 47 days. On the 48th day, it would climb 3 feet and be out of the well.
Of course this assumes that the spider climbs 3 feet FIRST and THEN slips 2 feet.

OK, everyone is saying 50 - but that is not correct
After the first day the spider will be at 1 foot. After the day 46 it will be at 46 feet. After the day 47 it will be at 47 feet. On the 48th day, it climbs 3-feet and is at the top.
48 days is the answer.

50 foot well, and it takes it a day to travel 3 feet and slip back 2..
Assuming the amount the spider travels each day is constant, you can see that the total amoun the spider travels a day is 1 foot. So divide 50 by 1 and you get 50, so it'll take 50 days for the spider to travel up the well.

I just thumbs downed every one ahead of me and it felt good.
My sister had a pet spider once, but she didn't know what to feed it. There was no spider food in the supermarket. She used to put leaves in there for it to eat. Needless to say, it died. Retarded spider.

50 days, if it goes up 3 and down 2 every day it's essentially going up 1 foot a day. And with 50 feet, it'll take 50 days
