Why are Santa's reindeer given male names, with the exception of Vixen, and refered to as males in pop culture?

Because its a male dominated culture. Somehow the story of Santa and his 8 female reindeer is not good enough; after all men would have you thinking that female reindeer could never pull a sleigh. Heck maybe they couldn't since after all its full of toys and a fat old man. So its Santa and his mostly male reindeer. Also most likley they story of Santa was made up be men, which would explain a lot.

It is the fault of Global warming, climate change and animal deformities due to exposure to toxic wastes that cause male reindeer to grow antlers in the stories....

not some plot by a male dominated society.
