I've known a few guys your age (through childfree sites) who were sterilized around 20-21, so it is definitely possible. Definitely worth it too, according them. You'll know if your partner is unfaithful and stupid, for one thing.
Do be forewarned: you would be sore for three days and would need to have your semen tested to be sure you are shooting blanks. Not too high of a price, really.
Good luck!

Sure, people your age have vasectomies. But I wouldn't advise any man to get one. Especially a man who says that he could "just reverse it" someday. Reversal isn't that easy to do. And reversals cost alot (around $5000 to $7000). And finally, reversals don't always work, especially if the man was vasectomized for many years. Plus there can be complications (long term) to vasectomy such as post vasectomy pain syndrome. There is a proven increase in kidney stones in males with vasectomies. And there are alot of unknowns as to whether vasectomies could increase certain cancers, auto-immunal diseases, or heart disease. Finally, maybe vasectomy would be more convenient than...ahem...you know...but not as safe. Remember, unless you wear a condom, you can catch a STD.

I got mine at age 21.
I don't know why people keep mentioning reversal. First of all, most people whom get vasectomies are serious about it, so why would that ever consider reversal? BTW: For all practical purposes vasectomies are not reversible.
I am now 41 (I had my vasectomy 19.5 years ago). No I never had children, and I am very proud of that fact.
If you are serious about getting a vasectomy, just go to a non-profit clinic. I did. I subtracted two years from my birthdate, and told them I already had children. They can't legally verify any of it.
Just a world of caution: You will be considered "undatable" by 4 out of 5 women that you will meet until you are about 35, were women are old enough not to be baby crazy.

Of course you can have a vasectomy, but reversal is another matter. There is no guarantee that a reversal will be successful; you have to regard the operation as permanent though there is a chance it could be reversed. I do not think very many reputable doctors would perform a vasectomy on a nineteen year old man.

Vasectomies are not reversible. Some can be but the are not done to be reversible. There is only about a 50% success rate with reversals and it is very expensive and not usually covered by insurance.

The vasectomy is pretty easy. Getting it reversed is not. It requires exploratory surgery to find the tubes that have been snipped, and reconstructive surgery to the tubes themselves. And even after all that, there is no gaurantee that scar tissue wont block the tubes and make all that trouble a complete waste. So, base your decision on it being a permanent thing.

I had mine just over a week ago. It is early to tell you if it worked. I will say it was pretty much painless. ......with the exception of when I jumped out of my truck on my first day back to work. That was dumb.

I heard reversal is really expensive, but do what you think feel's right. I have no control over your body, so just go with your best judgement.

you could always store some semen in a hospital somewhere, no idea what it costs but you could put enough away so that someday if you want kids you could do it that way
