OK, just because you've been sick although you really should look these words up so you know what they mean and the context to use them in. Here goes, and in no particular order.

He had to make a decision. Normally he was decisive but on this occasion he flinched from making his choice. He couldn't face the possibility of making a mistake. He needed to choose the right college. His whole future depended on it. He had systematically and deliberately eliminated those colleges that didn't fulfil his expectations, leaving only the most appropriate ones on his list.

His background had been one of deprivation and he was determined to break away from the aggressively acting effects of poverty that he had grown up in. He was optimistic in this, hoping for a secure future of exhaltation where everything would be better. What he wanted to escape from was the way his grasping parents had manipulated his life, with concocted stories and insinuated doubt about his exploits, that had cost him many of the friendships he had so laboriously forged. If he could denounce their idiosyncratic habits he could, perhaps, see their influence diminished. The way to do it, he decided, was to surround himself with extroverts who could help him escape from the boredom of his existence. Having made this his goal he could, at last, issue dispensations to his parents that would free him forever, the first step being to denounce their treatment of him to his friends.
