i got the shot because its the only thing that keeps me from getting pregnant but ive been bleeding since about a week after i got the injection. (& of course the shot works...because i havent stopped bleeding to even have sex to possibly get pregnant) lol.... Im due for my next shot November 9th and Im not getting the injection. well anyways i just wanted to know if anyone knows how long it might be till its out of my system....Also since ive been on the depo ive lost about 20 lbs. Is that normal since most people say they gain weight. (it wasnt a bad thing in my book because i just had a baby and it took me down past my pre-pregnancy weight...lol) but i was just wondering.

GOOD, glad to hear you are not getting another shot!
Its out of your system in three months but it may take up to or over a year for your system to finally regulate itself because of the depo shot.
I went on Kariva immediately after depo and got my periods back in three months.

If you were breast feeding that could account for the weight loss. The shot will lose it's effectiveness a few days after you are due for your next shot. As for being completely out of your system, you may have to ask your doctor that. I believe it can have residual effects for several months.
