I'm afraid you are stuck - EMO is in right now and anyone who wears stars, stripes, black is getting called emo.
What you are wearing in the photo is, sorry ot tell you, what all the Emo kids are wearing.
Emo doesnt have the same meaning anymore because of how many people dress that way so even if you are into metal and gothic rock you'll still be labelled emo.
I get labelled emo all the time too - if it's really bothering you keep your outfits more simple and tone down your make-up which is what I do.
But at the end of the day if you like what your wearing and feel good stuff everyone else!!

Try not looking for a particular dress style, but just dressing the way you like too, stay away from dark colours like black, thing supporting skulls or stripe and any form of bangs. Don't wear pants that chaff or running shoes with black stockings.
You have eyes look at what emo people do, and just DON'T DO IT.
Just cause you like a certain type of music dosen't mean you have to dress a certain way. Listen, I like folk music, dosen't mean I dress likr a hippie. It shows that your just a kid because you are trying to define who you are by your outside appearance way too much, rather than simply by being who you are and dressing how you feel. And those who you see that are like in their 30's and still dress like hippies or punks are the real thing when it comes to that style. So just dress how you like to dress and if what you like to dress like is emo, maybe you just got to deal with it and curse the ones who ruined comfortable clothing for you.
If you absolutly want to go with an already pre-established style that isn't girly or emo, just wear normal jeans with normal shirts, maybe more along the skater style. You can dress like a skater and like raps , metal, rock, whatever. Skater is actually really versatile....
But if I were you I would stop caring about what others think and dress how I want too...but that is just me

Try a different make up style. I bet you'd look great with a thin line of brown eyeliner, and coppery eyeshadow. Also, try out some different clothes, jeans a a nice comfy t shirt or hoody. But I think it's great that you have your own style, and I don't think you should change for anyone else, only yourself. If you are sure you are ready to change your personal style then go for it. I've recently undergone a major style change myself. Just make sure that whatever you are wearing you feel comfortable in.

I think you should be yourself
and i bloody know its easier said than done but seriously, you shouldn't be going for a look, and if you are i reckon you should just wear what the hell you like Girl!! =))
But if your asking i think indie would suit you?
indie music for example is
the fray
the killers
the hoosiers
maroon 5
OASIS!!!
and you could listen to a load of bands that noonees heard off
new ones,good onces
go to gigs and such, if you can
there all brilliant bands
and there way more cooler than emo bands
its in a rank order and emo is at the bottom tbh but theres nothing wrong with it, its all about taste and oppinion
the style in description is
Dress:
She usually likes to dress sharp maybe with a tie. Unlike Avril Lavigne ties. Indie Girls wear them tight and normal not ghey-like. Usually with a nice polo or sweatervest. Indie girls also usually have glasses. You better be pretty damn Indie to make up for not having glasses. If you're a hard-core Indie chick you'll wear blazers with your ties. But not just any blazers. Tweed blazers and pinstripe only. Also, don't match too much. If you do it'll lookliek you tried to hard to look indie, and you don't want that. Even if no one can see your socks that day, wear two different socks. it's totally unique and it looks like you are poor/don't care.
Shoes:
Shoes are a major part of a indie girl life. And they should be a part of your indie girl life too. shud like to wear and and every shoe you can find. Wing-tips, dress shoes, plaid clogs, bowling shoes, chuck taylors, bare foot, doc martens, be creative.
Hair:
To indie girls hair = everything. You can go a bit daring and cut it all off for that short indie mod look. Of keep it long and make it totally layered and haute.

Don't wear anything that could be seen as goth or emo. No black, skulls anything depressing. Look at the mall tell the salesgirls what you want .Something unisex, upbeat and fun.Look through online catalogs see waht YOU think is the oppposite of Emo. Good Luck.

if your not emo, your not emo...Your are what you want to be, no matter what people say. I know that i shop at Hot Topic and Sepencers, i listen to hardcore rock music 2 but thats not the only thing i listen to or the only places i shop. you dont have to be girly not to look emo...just wear colours that arent black. I kno that i wear alot of black, but i'm not called emo. Because i dont let people call me that. your attitude means alot more than your clothing. If your comfortable with yourself...than screw the haters

dont totally remove the eyeliner but a thinner layer would be nice, also less black. try a blue (that isnt too girly girl) avoid hot pink since thats also kind of an emo ish color. the skinny zip up hoodies are pretty emo so just try a cammy (sp?) and top over that (lol i feel gay for knowing this), but just make sure you like it yourself

Don't worry about what people think. Honestly. I think its really cliche to judge people by their look. Just because you look a certain way, doesn't mean thats the 'you'. Just be yourself, and don't let what others think they should label you as bother you. Its wrong, and disrespectful. Just be yourself, and that should be enough, if you look 'emo' then so be it. But that doesn't mean thats how you act, and the real you. People should get to know you before they judge and bully you.

get rid of the skulls and black. Try a more neutral color. Like greens or tans. And also, don't wear eyeliner unless it's a thin line!
You could try wearing cute little white shoes like addidas has some instead of black etnies or something like that.
Wear more jeans instead of black pants or skirts...
just some tips. and STAY AWAY FROM BLACK! Unless it's like a black tank top with jeans. Never wear black bottoms and black tops. It looks so emo.
