The state board is kinda giving me a hard time about it. along with a dui charge from 2003 i'm kinda worried. I mean i'm 30 now. i was 21 when the domestic violence charge happened but it was dropped the prosecutor literally laughed when he saw the charges because it was completely the other parties fault. as for the dui i blew exactly at .08 and back in 03 the laws were stiff just not as stiff as they are now. I need help, i'm worried i've come to far to just quit.

If the charge was dismissed, then what is the problem? Are you sure it was dismissed? Or did you get it dismissed after probation. If you got it dismissed after probation, you need to get it expunged. As for the DUI, just say you had one drink too many while leaving the local restaurant and you got busted. You paid your dues, learned from the mistake, and haven't repeated it.

However, the public licensing boards (state teaching commission, real estate, health) have the job to weed out as many bad apples as possible.

Just be sincere, explain everything and say that you are a completely different person. You shouldn't have any trouble.

Also, get an attorney if possible.

Any dismissed charge is -- legally -- as if it never happened. The state cannot use a dismissed charge against you.

As for the DUI -- if you were found guilty -- that could be used against you -- if you were found not-guilty or if it was dismissed -- then again, it cannot.
