well i read many of reasons 1st is the poulution on them were bad 2nd they didnt sell good 3rd and the only true answer is my sis found out from a chevy dealer when she took her equanox to get sumthing done to it he said they took it off cause sum peoples insurance were more than the car payments i never knew car makers even cared abt what people pay for insurance i really wanted one so bad but now i cant get one unless its used id rather have new one they are bringing a turbo charged out next year i think its no going to be as powerful as the supercharged one.they better make it like the solstice is witha 260 hp engine in it.so the superchaged one is gone for 08 then hopefulkly 09 they bring back the ss cobalt.

Because the cobalt SS models were a waste of money and time. No point in "super" charging a smaller 4 cylinder engine than the standard 2.2L engine that came stock in the LS models. The SS model only had a 2.0L engine.

The car as a whole not just the SS models are pieces of crap. I'm trading in my cobalt on a toyota tundra crewmax pickup in January as soon as its built.

My husband and I own a 06 civic si. Before buying it we checked out the SS. The SS has more horse power stock than the Si by only a few horses but dosent produce the boost in power you would expect. In terms of handling the SS just dosent out perform the Si by a long shot. In terms of looks the SS just looks to much like a revamped version of the Cavalier. Inside and out it looks to disposable and then the lack of performance just hurts it even more. The SS was premiered in 06 along side the new Civic Si which overtook the performance world ( it won car of the year) Chevy just didnt have the sales it needed or overall performance to back another production of this car.

those cars are done...not many people bought them. They aren't exactly fast so chevy kinda just gave up...plus with all this talk of greener cars a supercharger doesn't exactly help
