I assume you are graphing this where you use the x-axis for m values, and the y-axis for c values.

This would be equivalent to the line:
y = 0.75x + 2.25

x-intercept will be found when *Y* is 0.
0 = 0.75x + 2.25
-2.25 = 0.75x
x = -2.25/0.75
x = -3

y-intercept will be found when *X* is 0.
y = 0.75(0) + 2.25
y = 2.25

Hi,

The x intercept will occur when y = 0 so substitute for 0 = 0.75m + 2.25

The value will depend upon the value of 'm'

m = - 2.25/0.75

The y intercept will occur when x = 0 which is at y = 2.25.

the equation y=mx+b is what you have here

b=y intercept
m=slope of equation
x is the x value

so the y-intercept is at b or 2.25 in your case

then y=.75x+2.25
the y value is 0 where the x intercept is
so 0=.75x+2.25
solving for x gives x=-3

there is no x- and y-intercept, there may be a c- and m-intercept.
