People were requested to leave on Friday. The official evacuation order came mid day Saturday. The hurricane hit the city Sunday evening. The buses stood empty. The governor and the mayor both screwed up big time. Then to cover their incompetent butts, they tried to blame the federal government who is never the first responder to this type of event.

I know this may sound heartless but, I really could care less. I lost EVERYTHING in Hurricane Rita and we were forgotten. It's like it never happened to us... New Orleans' dilema was due to man's error, the levee breaking. No one was too worried about Mississippi and they were actually HIT.
With Rita, we were forgotten and lost it all.
