I'm looking at buying a D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme Wireless Router - 300Mbps, 802.11n (Draft N), 4x Gigabit Ports but I've heard that it has compatibility issues with Linksys products like network adapters. Is this True?

The issue is with N, it is not a "finished" standard as yet and MFGs may or may not be using the same standards. Thus the "Draft N". If you want the full boat of bandwidth (300mbps) you need to use devices from the SAME manufacturer! Otherwise you may find you only get 802.11g connections! (54Mbps) It doesn't matter which manufacturer this is, Dlink, Linksys, Buffalo, Belkin etc. if you want N use ONLY THE SAME PRODUCT ON EACH END!

Since in most cases this only affects the speed of your LAN it really isn't a big issue if your main use is INTERNET!! Very few internet connections for home users even approaches the 11mbps of 802.11b!!!!!

IF they meet the same specification there should not be any problem. It MUST be the EXACT same specification.
