Question was 'What medicine can I take that will make me gay?' I replied a.rse nick. And I get violation message from yahoo. What's the story? This idiot's question insults gay people, shouldn't it be this fool that gets violation notice.
P.S This is not the first time that this has happened to me, but tonight I voice my opinion. Often stupid questions like another one tonight what woman would persuade a gay man to be straight. I'm hate stupid questions in this section.

I think your answer was funny. Ask a stupid question...get a stupid (yet funny!) answer. And I agree. The person asking should have...and possibly did...get a violation notice. But it is AMAZING how many people get offended these days. And the only way for them to get back at you, is to slap you with a violation notice. Take it with a grain of salt, and consider the source. Whomever reported you, sounds like an uptight a.rse, themself.

You must remember that the average IQ is 100 and therefore probably a good proportion of the people on here have IQs of under 100 so you are going to get a good proportion of stupid questions in all sections. Giving silly answers brings you down to their level and does not help them. What you need to do is to carefully explain (and write slowly) why the question is not very sensible and what the real situation is. This way you may not get so many violations and there is a remote chance you may education someone

Anyone can report anyone on this site, and they do. Usually for no reason what so ever. Or none that we'll ever discover. My Answers profile is linked to my 360 page and the blog is open to all of 360, as long as their settings enable them to view adult content. I seldom ask any questions here because I can Google it and get a more satisfactory result instantaneously. But frequently my answers are deleted, and they are generally fairly innocuous. On my last page (this is my 12th), Yahoo suspended my Answers account, and I had only been signed-up with that page for about 4 hours and answered maybe 3 questions. I deleted that page myself in protest. Yahoo sucks. And they're shutting down 360 too. I abandoned my page.
Some silly @ss will come along and complain about this answer, no doubt, because I said Yahoo sucks. Let me rephrase that. Yahoo sucks.

I agree with your point. Idiots ask idiotic questions, then get upset when they get the answers they deserve.
A pity Yahoo don't pay more attention to the question that was being replied to,then take everything into consideration before just issuing violations

All I will do at this point is add noise to the growing voice. The automated system that is Yahoo answers moderation doesn't allow for humour, individuality or any kind of irony.

Join the club. I told one idiot that the question was unreadable. I got a violation. Another asked what Taco Bell's Cinnamon twists are made from and I said that they are garbage food. Another violation. Go figure.

YAHOO answers is all about one's opinion....um if they don't want to hear others opinions they do NOT need to be here. I have also posted questions that never made it....clean honest questions....so I'm guessing someone is just radomly reporting people.....
Yes the other person shoud be cited a violation notice....
These people crack me up...lmao

Sense of humor and Y!A sometimes don't mix due to language barriers. I mean, don't forget, I'm in the US and if I'm going to tell someone, "Hey, I'll be over to knock you up around 7, okay?" some people take that as being sexual. In other words, word play is a sketchy thing in this forum.

You calling my questions stupid lol......
Yeah people are report happy here lately. Some of my questions don't even make it up and it has stuff to do with nothing that violates a TOS
I think it takes two accurate reporters and your question or answer is gone with no questions asked...,(unless you challenge it) so try not to make enemies and good luck.

Don't mind them hun. You know it wasn't a violation. Some people just have no sense of humour.
I don't agree with Maid Angela above either. It would be not be much fun if there were no silly answers.
