What happened to the petition to freeze the Madeleine fund that went round months ago. It just disappeared without trace? and in view of the fact that the McFraudsters have already spent 1/3 of the "LOOK FOR" Madeleine fund on their mortgage, should the fund be frozen now.

Definitely frozen. It seems ironic that five months ago my well-meaning friend gave £20 to the 'findmadeleine' fund. (It was the most she could afford at the time.) Come christmas she will be struggling to buy her kids any presents and could possibly be homeless due to falling into arrears on her mortgage repayments. It doesn't seem right or fair that the McCanns will use the fund money for living expenses, but my pal accepts that she made her decision at the time and $hit happens. Some people are too generous for their own good sometimes whilst others just take the p!ss.

1/3 of the fund on their mortgage? How uneducated are you? Their monthly mortgage repayments are believed to be around £2000. 6 months at £2000 is £12000. Which in fact equals a little over 1% of the £1.09 million that has been donated.

Try getting your facts right.

The money should have been given to missing children's charities. It is a waste of money spending it on balloons, t-shirts and the like. Everyone is aware of Madeline's disappearance, they didnt need to publicise it any more than they have done.
The last thing the money should have been used for is to pay the McCann's mortgage.
Unfortunately, the way that they have spent this money will stop a lot of people giving to causes like theirs in the future.

They have spent a third of 1.3 million on the mortgage?

Yeah right,if you look at what people are writing underneath the article in another paper, they all say its alright with them if they pay the mortgage out of it,and as someone who donated to the fund,I am saying the same,.

People are not just happy to accuse them of murder, they want them to be homeless as well when Maddie comes home.

The only people who have a right to complain are the ones who donated, and they dont seem to be,so whats its got to do with anyone else?

YES, people didn't give to the fund to pay the McCanns mortgage and living expenses, it was to help SEARCH for Madeleine and if the parents don't want to do this, the fund should be frozen and distributed to other worthier causes.

i am tired of this pro anti maccann thing, nobody here is an idiot, i want to believe.

for you so called pros's will you decide to ignore a suspicious act by the maccanns just to maintain ur pro status, pls grow up everyone.

and anti's, will you still bad mouth the maccans if there was evidence to prove they are innocent?

I'm neither pro nor anti but i try to analise events as the happen and i am sorry but the couple are strange and sometimes act suspiciously, that's not to say the are guilty but in my opinion just weird.

I agree that the fund should be handled by more competent folk and to pay their mortgage from it is downright disgusting

Yes absolutely, or else rename it: The Pay The Mortgage And Clarence Mitchell's Salary Fund.

1/3 of the fund money is approx £333,333 and their repayments are £2,000 a month. That's nearly 14 years repayments in one go. Now you stated that a third was spent on their mortgage. Where did you invent that. I can see no trace in your link. Maybe a good idea to get all your facts right before spreading lies like this.

No the fund shouldn't be frozen. Not that I particularly follow this story, but this is exactly what an emergency fund is supposed to be used for. How else are they going to pay their bills while they are looking for their daughter full time? Regardless of whether you think they are lying or not, they are not misusing the money by using it to pay their living expenses. Get over it. The money was given to them. It is up to them to figure out how to use it.
