my boyfriend and i have this game. every time we talk on the phone or get to see each other( ldr) we have to tell the other a fact that we learned (interesting, weird, or just something good to know). it keeps things fun and we learn.

we get to see each other in two weeks. by then we decided to try and become an expert at something. he's very intelligent and knows pretty much everything about everything. (history, science, technology...on and on...)

anyone have an interesting topic that i could further look into that most people wouldn't know a lot about? anything you ever wanted to know about but never put in the time to learn it?

thanks!

How about learn to solve the rubix cube? It's fun. It takes a little time to learn, but it's pretty impressive to watch if you can't (yet) do it yourself.

Here's a website that teaches you how.

Become an absolute expert on the history of the area where you live. Everyplace has some interesting history (and actually even if the history is really dull that just makes your expertise hilarious). This is a good topic because when ever you walk around you will be able to point out things he does not know.

Admit your ignorance and ask him to explain how a blade of grass, or any other green plant, can separate electrons (split atoms) use them, then pass them on without being radioactive. It's called photosynthesis. Or you can study up on metaphysical phenomena, such as ghosts, zombies, things that go bump in the night, hauntings, etc. Do you believe? If not, give a rational, reasoned explanation supported by facts only. So far, there isn't one. Have fun.

Well, I once saw a woman on "The Tony Danza Show" who was an expert on "The Brady Bunch". I'm sure becoming an expert is a lot of fun, even if you don't get paid for it.

How about astronomy, especially the different constellations and the planets and their locations?

This is great if you have a clear night sky in your area. How any times have you looked up at all those stars and said "Now WHERE is the Little Dipper," or WHERE is Venus?
