good-bye
Frail am I, but still with desire,
Old and wise, but God I'm so tired.
I dream of you, lying right next to me,
Trying so hard, figuring what not to be.
I'm totally beaten, but no sleep tonight,
My eyes burning red, as I hold you tight.
Sleep precious angel, Sleep while you can,
Even though I am older, I am still a man.
Will you remember, all the words that we said,
As we made our way, up and into our bed.
You dream tonight, as I yearn for more,
Slowly I drift off, not wishing for war.
Swallow the taste, that you once craved deep,
In my bitter blood, you lay in your sleep.
Closing my eyes, I kiss you good-bye,
You just roll over, not even a sigh.
