No, it just means that you are juror number 13. It would be silly to go 12 and then 14. Everyone would wonder where 13 went.

I'd say it's a good omen. Most alternate jurors never deliberate on a case. Listening to the case is easy. Deciding it is what's tough.

No - 13 is my favourite number. But even if you 'think' it's unlucky - you are wrong - it can't be! I think The idea originated from the time of Jesus - 12 disciples - an extra one round table would be inappropriate. why not tap in unlucky 13 on Google & see what you get? good luck.

13 is only unlucky for some , if your a Knight of the Crusade , it might just be unlucky , but they were wiped out 700 years ago , so think nothing of the number , sit back and enjoy the peace and hope you dont get called

Nope, 13 is just another number. Somebody on crack made up the "fact" that it was an unlucky number.

no. It just means you are the first alternate. You have to sit through the trial, and pay attention, but you don't get to be in on the decision unless one of the first 12 drop out.

Only if you are superstitious and make it out to be more than it is. It is just a number for goodness sakes. Get over it.
