no. the direction has nothing to do with it.

if we spun the earth backwards on its axis it would appear that the sun would raise and set in reverse, but time would still work the way it always did.

if we could make the earth orbit at the speed of light we could warp time into slowing down quite a bit.

this guy claims he can make a "tunnel in time" back to a past,
As long as the machine is working during this period.

Earth's orbit around the Sun is more governed by time than time by the orbit...

If you were to reverse the orbit of the Earth, then it would simply be orbiting the other direction. Take space probes which sometimes drastically alter their paths around the sun.

Ulysses orbits our sun in a polar orbit - meaning that it circles the Sun over its north and south poles and not around its equator. If time were defined by your progress around the sun's equator, then wouldn't this mean that time has stopped on board this craft? It has not, because the craft is able to receive commands and transmit data.

Don't confuse the actual passage of time with our standard of measuring its passage. (And don't take everything in Superman literally - Earth's rotation doesn't dictate time either).

No. The direction of time is not controlled by the motion of Earth.

first there is no way to reverse the rotation of the earth, second. the rotation of the earth has nothing to do with time. even if you could stop the earth, would time stop? no.

You must travel faster that the speed of light. APP 180,000 miles a second to go back in time.

The atomic clocks on space craft prove this out.

That would be just as effective as turning back the time on your clock.
