Knowing your skin tone will help you determine which lip color will look the most natural on you. Here's how to determine your skin tone:

Warm skin tone:
1. Look at inner wrist - veins will appear green.
2. Gold jewelry is more flattering than silver jewelry.

Cool skin tone:
1. Look at inner wrist - veins will appear blue.
2. Silver jewelry is more flattering.

Then select a color that is similar to the color of your inner lip. Sheer lipsticks or lip stains are the easiest to wear.

You can also take a cream lipstick and mix it w/ a bit of petroleum jelly or clear lip gloss to make it more sheer & light.

What I like to do is use some of my mothers plum colored lipstick, dab a little bit on (just a little!) and then put lip balm, not lip gloss, but lip balm over the top of it! Works like a charm ;D

I use an angled eyeshadow brush. First, I dabbed on lipstick in a few places, then I brush it downwards on each lips. THEN, I do the same with lip gloss, and blot by pressing my lips on tissue afterwards.

Use a lipstick that is only one shade away from your natural lip colour and your lips will look naturally flushed.

Use your favorite shade. Tap the lispstick gently across your bottom lip. Rub lips together. I also love to use lip stains and markers such as Marks Lip Markers.
