When you go out to eat (inspired by the video and me being a waitress)

I tip very well when I go out, because I am a waitress and I just tip well because we live off of our tips. Sometimes I actually tip too much but its just me being nice.

Anyone that leaves a dollar for anything more than a beer or drink is nothing now days I believe unless you have horrible service, and I mean horrible. I still get those though from people and I hate it. I also notice even if I don't get the best service how busy my server is, if they are slammed and are still trying then I still tip as much as I would with great service but a lot of people don't realize that and tip bad cause they think their server is doing it intentionally.

Enough with me I want to know how much you tip.

My sister was a waitress and she always says that she doesn't tip a percentage no matter how high her bill is, I always disagree strongly with her on that one. She will tip the same for a $20 bill and $100 bill, and she tips about $5 so that would be a horrible percentage of $100, 5%. I hate when people say that, just like the video said, we only take home 55-60% after tip outs and taxes o the higher my customer's orders are, the more I have to tip out so when I get the complete @ssholes that come in and don't leave anything after I give great service I actually have to pay to wait on cause I tip a percentae of all my sales.

Story of my life! I'm a waitress too!! Some of the older people dont realize times have changed and still tip very little!! :( But when i go out me and my bf both tip ridiculous amounts..too much then we should rather if we have a good or bad waitress/waiter..i dunno i just know how it is...if its me by myself even if i just order a drink..i will still leave at least 5 dollars..i dunno its just me!

once we went to fridays, and it was HORRIBLE service!!! the waitress didn't come after20 min~! no one got us drinks , water.etc.. and i had to go get someone to take our order. WE got NO refills and My son was pratically begging for food, and others were served before us and they got their after us. She was the WORST waitress ever, and i have waitressed before, and she got a $.15 tip. Thats only because I didn't want to sit around and wait for the change, or she would have gotten nothing!!!

Normally, we tip 18-20%, we have a tip chart the size of a credit card in our wallets. it works very well, and if we don't have that, i pull out the cell phone and use the calculator, i still know how to do that!! lol.

When I'm paying for my own meal, it's usually either $4 or 20%. If it does not equal to atleast $4 when 20% is used, then I tip 4 dollars, I'm a waitress myself and I honestly feel that it's not the servers fault that i ordered something cheap, they still did their job. As for leaving nothing for horrible service, it's best to leave something, even if it's a dollar, then the server knows it was their problem, not you just being forgetful or an asshole.

At least 15%! I have a tip calculator on my phone so I know exactly how much to give. You sound just like my dad, he once left a 50 dollar tip for a 30 dollar meal. But I understand, because waitresses do have it hard. My 17 year old sister works at Chick Fil A, and being a christian owned company, they are not allowed to accept tips. I think if someone offers because your service was great, it's okay to accept a tip. It's just a nice gesture, and people who, as you said, leave 1 dollar tips need to be put in their place.

Always at least 15% for average service. 20% for good to very good service. Above 20% for exceptional service.

I abhor people who give waitresses hard times for issues that are not the waitresses fault. Sometimes I think they do that just to have an excuse to tip less.

I was a waitress and I tip very well. I have been told that I tip too well, but I have been there and I know the crap you have to put up with. I take the tax and I triple it and add 2.00 to that and that is my tip. If the service is excellent I will give more depending on where we are and what we got I have left tips up to 300.00 so it just depends
