I bring our dog trick or treating every year. She loves it. She is a Labrador and loves the attention and is very patient with kids and small babies. She always wears her little bumblebee wings and antennae since she is yellow. People often hand out treats, too!
This year though, I am probably not taking her (for the first time in her nearly 9 years.) She went blind suddenly this summer and walkies are harder on her now.
I think you should take them only if your dog is great with little kids and other dogs and is not going to be all bark-y and annoying.
Plus I always felt a little safer with her walking with us, too.

Okay, you have a point. (I'll give you that.)
Who cares if some kid is afraid of dogs? Why are people raising their kids as if they a marshmallows these days? I mean, come on! I think people bringing there dog out is fine, if they have their kids too. (Just bringing your dog out would be plain ignorant!) There is nothing wrong with that! Kids need to learn a few lessons, I think dogs could teach them pretty well. *Sit, stay, don't beg, etc.*
Dressing up a dog, however is another matter all together.

i think its adorable, but im a dog lover. i think that people should do what they want as long as their dog is a nice and calm one, and they are sure that their dog wont bite any kids or jump on them. kids love dogs!! :)

I see nothing wrong with it, if the dog is on a leash and well behaved.
