I think Belichek has given the offense to Brady lock stock and barrel. If it's for a record or not Brady does what he wants as the Qb. That may be a hidden agreement that coach and player share. I'd do it if I'm his coach. Whatever makes him happy,we're winning. Running up the score can also be looked as intimidation for the rest of the league. Their dominance is without question(I'm a Raider,I know,I know!)or in my opinion, without rival.
As my answer to the question,I don't think Belichek even had that thought in mind. Total league dominance, pure and simple. One beyond question or controversy.

I think that's true, that he was left in to extend the streak. But, if every team they play didn't suck so bad and could actually score, it wouldn't be running up the score. It would be securing the win. What are the Patriots supposed to do? Mail it in during the second half? Then teams would be upset that they're being mocked by the Patriots, because they're not trying.
San Diego was up on Houston 35 - 3 at the half yesterday and didn't have more than a 6-play drive and didn't score any more points the rest of the game. And, people (fans, radio guys, the paper, etc.) are criticizing the Chargers for just rolling over the second half of the game. Even though they ended up winning 35 - 10.
Personally, as a fan, I would like to see my team pile on and keep scoring, rather than roll over and possibly let the other team crawl back into the game. I remember a playoff game (Super Bowl?) a while back where the Redskins scored 35 points in the 3rd quarter and eventually won the game. I doubt Washington could have done that against the Patriots (or anyone in this league, for that matter). But, the object of the game is to score more points than your opponent. And, that's just what New England has been doing.

Yes, Bill Belichek seems like a cold & benedictive man. He cares more about winning by a large margin then winning with class. Tom Brady has thrown 30 touchdown passes in 8 games this season. He's on pace to throw 60 touchdown passes for the whole season. That would break Peyton Manning's record by 11. Bill Belichick probably wants to see Brady throw as many td passes as possible so he can break Peyton's record that he set in 2004.

No. Yes. Well kinda.
Usually during a blowout the starting QB comes out in the 4th quarter. At the end of the 3rd, the Pats were in the middle of a drive. Belichick let Brady finish the drive.
If Brady hadn't gotten his 3rd touchdown pass, I doubt Belichick would have put him back in on the next drive to try again. He was just letting Brady finish the drive, not leaving him in to get the TD pass.

Matt Cassel sucks
and
Matt Guiterrez is a rookie
think about what situation Bill Belichick is in
The Redskins defense is a strong defense
Belichick left Brady in the game longer to prevent the defense from capitalizing on the weakness of Cassel and Guiterrez and forcing them to make mistakes thus giving the Redskins the ball in which they could easily tire the New England defense with their 3 good RBs (Portis, Betts, Sellers)
Which would open up opportunities for Randel El and Cooley

Clearly Bellichick is angry about the illegal signal flap and is not taking any prisoners. His attitude seems to be "stop me if you can, and if you can't, too bad." Dallas actually led them in the third qrtr when they played earlier and I believe that if it hadn't been for Dallas' own stupid mistakes (penalties that wiped out large gains, failing to convert third downs) they would have won. Now I hope there will be a rematch in the Super Bowl.

I agree Marty it is classless and a shame to the NFL. you don't have to wipe a team off the face of the Earth in your games that just aint right. well I guess the Patriots are fed up with the Steelers and Colts winning the last 2 Superbowls. I hope they peak now and fall off the tree at the end of the season.

Prolly, Just to help Brady's stats. But I think they should take him out of the game and let their backup get some time to play,

Wouldn't surprise me. I think Belichick is running up the score as a way of giving the rest of the league a big FU for criticizing his cheating. How dare they?

No doubt. Maroney doesn't even have a TD this year because they are so hell bent on Brady breaking records.
