Me and my hubby and been together for 4 years. We have a 3 year old together, and we both want another child. There's a couple of things stopping me from proceeding though.
#1- I just lost 40 lbs, and I don't want to get fat again (I know- it sounds stupid) I will continue to work out though.
#2-With my first, I cracked my tail bone during labor and couldn't walk for 1 month afterwards
#3- I hemorrhaged after expelling the placenta and they had a problem stopping the bleeding, causing me to faint
#4- I have insurance, but it doesn't cover pregnancy, but we can afford to pay for the birth and baby stuff, plus I have all the baby clothes and toys from my first.

What do you guys think? Are these reasons enough to not have another? Be nice with your answers, no rude answers please! Thanks!!!

Things will work out. You should have another kid, they are blessings brought down on this Earth, directly from the Lord himself.

I think you should have another child. Children are wonderful blessings! With regard to your concerns....
1. You *can* keep your weight under control while pregnant
2. Try giving birth this time while squatting or in a birth tub. You are much less likely to break your tailbone because you won't be laying on your back.
3. Lots of things could have caused this -- did they tug on your cord to get the placenta out? Did they allow you to nurse your baby right away to help the uterus contract? Did they massage your fundus to help the uterus clamp down? They shouldn't have done the first and should have done the second.
4. Look into a homebirth with a midwife or a birth center birth. It's much cheaper than the hospital, especially if you have to pay out of pocket. Plus, with a midwife you are MUCH less likely to experience the cracked tailbone and hemmorage.

I say go for it! I don't regret having any of my children and am looking forward to more in the future.

Well I think that if you are making a list of reasons not to have a child, then you shouldn't even be thinking about it! You have all the wrong vibes to go ahead and have another baby. The reasons you list are not a real argument against having a baby. 1: weight loss-women have this argument all the time. you lose and gain weight through life, if you maintained your weight during pregnancy and watched what you eat and exercise you will be find once the pregnancy was over.
2:Cracking your toe? well are you really likely to do that again?
3: I too hemorrhaged after the birth of my first child. didn't happen with the second. so who knows? if the hospital are aware of this they will aim to prevent it happening.
4: if you are planning to have a baby then maybe you need to look at the insurance and make the right payments. And its good that you have your baby clothes from the first time round, I couldn't use all my baby clothes on my second child as their weights was different as were their sex!

Good luck with what you decide.

Well, with all the other problems that you had last time your doctor might recommend a c-section, especially with the tailbone and the bleeding issues, so that will cost a couple of thousand more dollars than a normal birth. I would hunt around for better insurance before trying to get pregnant.
As for not wanting to gain too much weight: Women seem to forget that they only need 300 extra calories a day and you can easily get that from eating 2 apples and a container of yogurt. Stay away from junk food, processed foods (TV Dinners), too much bad starch (Potatoes, rice, white bread). Stick to whole grain breads and pastas (The pastas are actually really good). I lost 6 pounds in my first trimester just by cutting out junk food, and eating more lean protein, whole grains, and fresh fruit and veggies. and my OB/GYN and my nutritionist said it was fine, and baby was growing fine.

It seems like you dont want to have another child. You listed all negatives. Could it be that you may be a little bored in your life or marriage and feel as though you should take some other step to fill in the space? ( Not trying to be mean im saying it kindly) A child is something you should really want before you try to conceive. It doesnt seem like your heart is in it so maybe you should use this time to focus on the cild you have and get in touch with what you really want!

I think having another child would be wonderful. Don't worry about your weight. Weight comes and goes and that baby will be all the more reason to put on a few lbs..lol
Not every labor is delivery is the same, don't let the first experience scare you into not wanting another. Talk it over with your dr and maybe work on things that could prevent all that happened to you the 1st time.
Good Luck

sure
you can get maternity card maybe, for expenses.
as for the tailbone fracture, my birthing class teacher did the same thing & was told that it would re-fracture with another labor, but she avoided problems with it by NOT laboring on her back for the second one (that restricts the flexibility of the tailbone) and has actually had 2 more babies without problems. try hands & knees, or squatting on a birthing stool... there are other options.
you may not hemorrhage again, don't count on it. but you can be sure to be prepared, just in case. you & the baby were still fine, so why let it stop you?
and the weight thing... well, what do you want MORE??
you can always lose the weight again. (breastfeeding perhaps?)

My answers:
#1- If you gain pregnancy weight healthy, the pounds will come off easy after labor
#2-Thats probably a once in a lifetime thing to happen to one person
#3-Again probably the odds of it happening again are rare
#4-Try for medicaid

If you want another---i say go for it---if you feel you dont---then dont do it:)

goodluck, God Bless, best wishes

children are so wonderful I would definately say yes. You have a stable income, relationship, family, everything. I always found the pain was well worth it. I'm on number 4. I also had hemorraging with my second and bled for a few hours but that was just because I couldn't pass a clot that I needed to. I was in and out of the hospital in less than one day that time because my son was transferred to a different hospital and I was not staying. I had to use a wheelchair instead of walking for about 1 day becuase I was so weak the doctor didn't want me walking. It was all worth it.

You only live once follow your heart. You can discuss your prior problems with your Doctor and see what the chances are of having them again. due to problems with my pregnancys my children are 10 years apart but i wouldn't change them for the world. I am glad we had another.
Good luck
