Somewhere along the evolutionary path of humans and apes we share a common ancestor. It's not like an ape had a baby and it was a human. Small variations from several different factors over time made the species. Try reading about evolution.

Monkeys, apes and humans came from primates. We are collectively called primates. Somewhere in time a group must have adapted themselves to living on the savannahs or plains. This group was the forefathers of humans. Evolution doesn't mean a certain group has to die out. Part of the group adapts to certain conditions and evolves to survive in those condtitions.

Because there isn't just "monkeys and apes". You're over-simplifying it increadibly. There are many different types of breeds of monkeys and apes and the ones we know today are the those that evolved differantly.

They're not, it was a common ancestor. Current monkey/ape populations have evolved from them (the common ancestor) also.

Because evolution is over a long period of time. It's not like a whole species of animals had to die around the world for humans to exist.
