you ready? the list above produced the results below
2007
* April 10 - Spectroscopic analysis of HD 209458 b, an extrasolar planet, provides the first evidence of atmospheric water vapor beyond the Solar System.
* April 25 - Gliese 581 c is discovered and identified as a potentially habitable Earth-like extrasolar planet in the constellation Libra.
2006
#January 25 - The discovery of the planet OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb through gravitational microlensing is announced by PLANET/RoboNet, OGLE and MOA
# February 1 - 2003 UB313 is found to be larger than Pluto.
# June 30 - The discovery of 9 additional natural satellites of Saturn published.
# September 13 - 2003 UB313 is assigned the name Eris.
2005
* February 23 - Astronomers announce the discovery of a galaxy, VIRGOHI21, that consists almost entirely of dark matter. The results are to appear in Astrophysics Journal.
* March 23 - Two independent teams report the observation of light from planets circling two different stars, using the Spitzer infrared space telescope. Both groups detect a slight dimming in the light intensity during conjunction, when the planet is moving behind its sun's disk (occultation). (SpaceflightNow) Results will be published in Nature and Astrophysics Journal.
2004
* March 15 - Astronomers announce the discovery of 90377 Sedna, a Pluto-like planetoid which is the most distant individual object known to orbit the Sun.
* May 18 - Scientists using the Chandra X-ray Observatory announced their findings that supports the notion that the expansion of the Universe is accelerating.
* September 13 - Astronomers from the European Southern Observatory (ESO) announce images that appear to show a planet orbiting a brown dwarf about 230 light years away. The system is believed to be only around 8 million years old.
* December 27 - A flare of radiation from an explosion on the super-magnetic neutron star (Magnetar) SGR 1806-20 reaches Earth - astronomers later calculate that it is the largest explosion observed in the Milky Way galaxy for 400 years.
2003
* February 11 - NASA's WMAP satellite completes the first detailed cosmic microwave background radiation map of the universe. The image reveals the universe is 13.7 billion years old (within one percent error) and provides evidence that supports the inflationary theory.
* The 2dF Survey of galaxy redshifts is published.
2002
* May 26 - The Mars Odyssey finds signs of huge water ice deposits on the planet Mars.
* June 4 - Quaoar is discovered
2001
* Richard Ellis, Michael R. Santos, Jean-Paul Kneib, and Konrad Kuijken discover a star cluster 13.4 billion lightyears from Earth.

There have been 212 (as of today) planets discovered around stars other than our Sun. They're called "extra solar" planets. The first was discovered in 1992 but the vast majority of them have been discovered since 2000.
More extra solar planets are being discovered all the time and the rate of discovery is increasing. Most of the planets discovered so far are gas giants but we are just starting to discover smaller rocky planets but that is expected to increase dramatically too in the NEAR future.
Pretty exciting stuff, huh?
Check out the list and info on all of them at the Wikipedia link below:

Hundreds of planets outside our solar system. The outer edges of the universe are expanding faster than the center.
That planets can rotate around stars in just a few days.
Huge amounts of data have been discovered by the rovers on mars.
Planetary geology has explanded enourmously as a science.
The actual amount of information could fill volumes!

Would you like folks to list all of the TENS OF THOUSANDS of things discovered in space the last eight years?
If you are asking about something a wee bit more specific then, please try to be just a tad more specific.
