This is probably a stupid question, but I was just wondering why was the Dolphins-Giants game played in London? I thought American football wasn't really popular outside of the US. thanks.

The NFL is scheduling 2 games per year outside the US beginning this season in an attempt to increase the popularity of NFL Football and make it a more worldwide game. There's even talk of the Super Bowl being played over there down the road.

It's gaining popularity, so the NFL is planning on holding 1-2 games a year in other countries.

The NFL Europe didn't do too well because everyone there knew that is wasn't the real NFL. It was like sending minor league baseball teams there. Since they are playing real games, that mean something, they will do well.

Because the NFL is a business .....just like McDonalds
the Commish Roger Goodall would like to franchise it out
make a league in all 7 continents so we could have 1 super league and then we could really play for the World Championship .....It's all about the almighty Dollar
which in this case the league is wrong . This is America's Passion leave it here .
