I'm having a sixtieth celebration and would like to give a thank you speech.

The above answers are great but I would add that you should be sure to add a humorous anecdote so it isn't just a dull list of people you appreciate.

Think of something interesting and amusing that has happened to you over the past sixty years (" if I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself" sort of thing).

If you alternate humor and sentimentality, it'll be a good speech.

Here's a link to an article with advice about writing thank you speeches - I hope it helps:

I can make suggestions. The thanks you give should be roughly in proportion to the work gone into the celebration. If a child or sibling organises the event, they shpuld receive the first thanks, but include all important contributors and be even handed in your praise. Dont let one person think you value their contribition more than everyone's. After all, you are the recipient of this celebration.

I would try to make it personal, one each person could appreciate. I would also just be yourself, say things the way you do.
